A specialist in Japanese art, Midori Kono Thiel has dedicated over seventy years towards a mastery of Japanese calligraphy, sumi brush painting, woodblock prints and the shamisen instrument. She has received numerous awards, and is recognized by her peers as a master and as a teacher of both the visual and the performing Japanese arts.
