Andrea Faciu und Tim Wolff stellen das deutsch-rumänische Kunstprojekt
"transreport" vor und zeigen eigene Video - Arbeiten

Produktionsbedingt hatte Upgrade Munich eine längere Pause. Aber wir sind wieder zurück
mit neuen Projekten und werden vor allem zukünftig stärker deutlich machen, dass
UPGRADE Teil eines sehr aktiven internationalen Netzwerkes ist, das in diesem Sommer seine dritte Jahreskonferenz in Skopje, Mazedonien abhält. Davon am 20. mehr.

Als Themenschwerpunkt des Abends werden Andrea Faciu und Tim Wolff das Projekt "transreport" vorstellen. In ihren eigenen Worten:

"Den ersten Schwerpunkt des Projektes bildet die kontextuelle Verschmelzung unterschiedlicher Positionen in multimedialen Arbeiten, und folglich die beabsichtigte Positionierung eines jeden künstlerischen Blickwinkels innerhalb der angestrebten
Zusammensetzung von Charakteren, Standpunkten und Aussagen. In diesem Sinne gibt
es keine thematische Vorgabe oder zu behandelndes Themenfeld, vielmehr geht es um
die Auseinandersetzung eines jeden der teilnehmenden Künstlern mit selbstgewählten
Gebieten und um den Dialog derselben untereinander, um die intensive Beschäftigung mit
den gegebenen Umständen unterschiedlicher Orte, Zusammenhänge und Arbeitsweisen.

Ein zweiter Schwerpunkt ist die Reflexion eines jeden Ortes, sei dieser reeller oder
geistiger Natur, an dem das Projekt im Lauf der Zeit verwirklicht werden wird. Die
ersten beiden Orte des Geschehens sind Sibiu (Hermannstadt) und Muenchen. In
beiden Städten wollen wir der sich vor Ort bildenden und gleichzeitig verändernden
"Anatomie" des Zusammenlebens auf die Spur kommen, ausgehend von kleinen,
hinter den Fassaden versteckten Geschichten, die im gesellschaftlichen und
kulturellen Gedächtnis beider Orte verborgen liegen."

"transreport" wird im Juli in der Rathausgalerie eröffnet, teilnehmende
KünstlerInnen aus Rumänien sind allerdings schon eingetroffen, haben mit ihrer
Arbeit in der Villa Waldberta begonnen und wir freuen uns besonders, dass
sie ebenfalls bei unserer Veranstaltung anwesend sein werden.

 In April 2008 Upgrade! Munich presents:

   Andrea Faciu and Tim Wolff:

"transreport"

Andrea Faciu and Tim Wolff will introduce the German-Romanian art project
"transreport" and will show some of their own video workds.

Due to external circumstances Upgrade! Munich has had a long pause in its activities.
Now we are back with new projects - and in the future we will be putting more emphasis
on the fact that we are part of a very active international Upgrade! network, holding its third annual conference this year in Skopje, Macedonia. Hear more at the meeting on the 20th!

The focus of the evening however will be on Andrea Faciu's and Tim Wolff's
project "transreport." In their own words:

"The first main focus of the project is framed by the contextual mergence of diverse
positions in multimedia works, and consequently, by the intended positioning of each
artistic point of view within the aimed grain of characters, attitudes and statements.
On this note, there is no topical preset or a certain thematic field to be outlined. It is
much more about the confrontation of the participating artists with the self-chosen
issues and fields of activity, the dialogue among them, and the intensive
preoccupation with the different venues, contexts and working processes.

A second main focus is, on a realistic and mental scale, the reflection of each
environment, where the project is to be done in the course of time. The first two
places of interest are Sibiu (Hermannstadt) and Munich. In Sibiu, the exhibition
will take place in October 2008 in ArtLabs and in the former slaughterhouse, a
place which differs completely from the first station, the Rathausgalerie in Munich.
From April to June 2008, four to six of the Romanian participants will be invited for a
three month residence in the Villa Waldberta near Munich, the exhibition will follow
at the end of July and last until September.

In both cases, we want to trace the in-situ emerging and at the same time the
changing 'anatomy‘ of cohabitance, starting from little stories hidden behind the facades
and buried in the socio-cultural memory of both cities."

"transreport" will open in July in Munich's Rathausgalerie (City Hall Gallery).
Participating artists from Romania have however already arrived! They are in
residency at Munich's Villa Waldberta and we are especially delighted that they
will be able to be present this evening at the Upgrade! Munich.
