Requirements
The game works with Netscape 3.x, 4.x and
Internet Explorer 4.x and 3.x
in conjunction with a VRML 2.0 browser plugin.
If you don't have a VRML 2.0 browser plugin yet, we recommend
you download and install
blaxxun Contact
first.
The minimum screen resolution is 800 x 600 pixels,
higher resolutions work as well.
In order for the game's logic to work, a minimum frame rate of at least
4 frames per seconds is needed.
If your machine is not powerful enough to do
this, decrease the window size. CCpro displays the frame rate if you hit
F7, Cosmo displays it if you hit the "=" key.
Another indication for an insufficient frame rate is when the Dark Knight
stops scoring at all.
I have successfully played the game on a P 133 laptop with 800 x 600 pixels.
If you have a really powerful machine, select the "fullscreen"
option on the main screen.
Start
Left click one of the red level buttons to start a round of the game.
One round lasts 60 seconds or until one of the opponents scores
at least 50 hits.
The higher the level you choose, the more active the Dark Knight
becomes and it gets increasingly more difficult to win a round.
Controls
You control the silver Lord D'wain with the blue buttons.
Left click on them with your mouse. Your opponent
the Dark Knight fights autonomously.
Blow
Lord D'wain does an overhead blow.
This is more effective if the
opponents are very close together.
High Cut
Starts a high cut.
This is more effective if the
opponents are close together.
Low Cut
Starts a low cut.
This is more effective if the opponents are far apart.
Thrust
Starts a thrust.
This is more effective if the opponents are somewhat far apart.
Block
Starts a block, the Dark Knight cannot score during a block.
Forward
Lord D'wain moves forward.
The opponents can only hit each other when they are
close enough.
Backward
Scoring
At the end of each round the winner of the round is determined.
If Lord D'wain wins, the total score is increased; if he loses
it is decreased.
Wins and losses yield or cost
more points the higher the level.
Winning
Once Lord D'wain reaches a score of 50 points, .....
You'll see what happens!
Known Problems
The texts on the buttons are hard to read using Cosmo.
At the end of a round, Cosmo sometimes stops the animations, a click
into the 3D window is needed to bring the opponents back into the
initial positions.
The Dark Knight cannot score on slow machines, it is very easy to win there.
CC3D shows some viewpoints twice in the list.
